For people w/ "perfect pitch" , it may not easy to own the "relative pitch" in the meanwhile. But fortunately for piano player that, our hand is like a ruler we could use our image for "gesture" in both hand. But we need do some work to get use to the "ruler" -- that's to play tone interval note w/ fixed finger.
Take chord C for example
For Right hand:
R1 for C & #C & D
R2 for bE & E & F
R3 for bG & G & #G
R4 for A & #A & B
R5 for C only (it's permanently fixed)
For Left hand:
L5 for C & #C & D
L4 for bE & E & F
L3 for bG & G & #G
L2 for A & #A & B
L1 for C only (it's permanently fixed)
When playing upper or lower octave notes, just keep same gesture. So we could sense the interval w/ "image" easily instead of "confused sound of perfect pitch".
